One of the most fun bottom fishing trips you can have for anglers of all ages and skill level is a great day of Sea Bass Fishing! They hit consistently to keep the younger kids busy and they pull just hard enough for everyone to enjoy the fight. The Sea Bass is a reliable catch once you figure out which rocks they like to hang out on and the keeper sized fish are amazing table fare especially when cooked whole. A simple bottom fishing rig sent down to the rocks with a live shrimp is an almost guaranteed hit. Believe it or not, they can pull you into the rocks just like any other bigger grouper would, so make sure to have a good fluorocarbon leader at least 36 inches long so you can put the heat on them and yank them back out. Speaking of Grouper, you never know what you might catch once you send down a live shrimp into the rocks. When targeting these Sea Bass, we also catch sheepshead, grouper, mangrove snappers and grunts of all sizes.
