Tripletail Fishing Crystal River

Fall Fishing Is Here in Crystal River!

Now that our super hot water temperatures are finally starting to cool off, the action is heating up! With new norms of water temps reaching into the low 90's in the summer, it's finally time to enjoy the cooler days and cooler water that make this time of year one of the best! All summer, the fish and sharks tend to be a little lethargic during the midday heat, but once those cooler nights start to roll in, the Gulf becomes alive with bait balls and predator fish coming back to life. If you haven't had the opportunity to pull a Tripletail off of a Stone Crab Float or chase around a bait ball being crushed by Bonita and Spanish Mack, you are missing out on one of the best times of the year to fish in Crystal River. Soon the trout will be plentiful in the cooler water across the flats and if Redfish or Snook is your thing, you can't beat this incredible time of year here along the Nature Coast.

Although the cooler windier days can sometimes create rough conditions offshore, there is always a place to hide and catch some fish in the backcountry. If you are lucky enough to schedule a charter during one of our flat calm days, you will get to see the Gulf in all her splendor. There is nothing more beautiful than being a few miles offshore and cutting across glass flat water on a perfect day without a cloud in the sky. As beautiful and fun as it is, unfortunately it doesn't last long before the REAL cold air arrives and the bite slows down again. So make sure to take advantage of the next few months of non stop action and get your fishing in before the end of the year. We are fortunate to have spring fed Kings Bay nearby, with a constant water temperature of 72 degrees year round allowing us to schedule winter time charters for Bull Sharks.

So whether it's the crazy fall run or a winter trip during the holidays, we have a charter for you at Shark Ventures! Contact us today and we'll see you on the water!
